150 Years of God’s Grace!

On October 4, Salem Lutheran Church of Springdale, Arkansas celebrated its 150th anniversary under the theme: 150 Years of God’s Grace! Started as an English-speaking church at a time when most Lutheran congregations spoke German, Salem has a history of reaching out into its community with the gospel. By God’s grace, Salem is now a multiethnic family of faith that offers the Divine Service and shares the Good News of Jesus in both English and Spanish. The anniversary celebration included a bilingual worship service, followed by a banquet with live music (classical, bluegrass, and mariachi!) and an outdoor festival with family games.

President Paavoal presented the plaque to Rev. Adam Gless and Rev. Brandon Martin. Worship was held in a joint service with Rev. Stephen Heimer, Director of All Nations Ministries, LCMS, preaching on All Nations under the grace of God in Christ Jesus.
