Oct. 16-18 | Concordia Seminary, St. Louis
Harvey. Irma. Maria. This past year seemed to be the year of the hurricane as many of our communities were significantly affected by storm after storm. Still others were affected by fires, earthquakes, tornadoes and other disasters.
It is in these moments of great suffering that the Church is able to deliver great comfort through body-and-soul care, chiefly in the proclamation of Christ and His saving Gospel.
That’s why I hope you’ll make plans to join us Oct. 16–18 at the 2018 National Disaster Response Conference, which will be held at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis.
- We’ll learn practical ways to love and serve people whose lives have been ripped apart by catastrophe;
- We’ll hear from pastors, disaster coordinators and others who have experienced and responded to significant disasters in the past year; and
- We’ll hear presenters explain best practices concerning mercy in the Church, both in the past and in the present.
The conference — “Lift High the Cross: The Comfort of Christ for Those Who Suffer” — will conclude with a banquet on Thursday evening. Come and share your experience, or simply learn from others.
Spouses are invited to attend, and registration is only $30 per person. Meals are included. Register online today.
We hope you’ll join us for this special time of learning and fellowship!
In Christ,
Rev. Dr. Ross Johnson
Director, LCMS Disaster Response
