In September, Rev. Trae Fistler traveled to the LCMS International Center in St. Louis, MO for the LCMS National Disaster Response Conference. Rev. Fistler had the privilege to speak on two topics. He shared a case study on the February 2025 tornado deployment to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wartburg, TN. On the same day, he had the opportunity to teach a class along with LCMS Disaster Response Lead Chainsaw Instructor Ricky Gross on different types of arborist ropes, their construction, and a sectional on how to tie knots for tree work.
In October, Rev. Trae Fistler was unanimously chosen to be brought on as a senior chainsaw instructor for LCMS Disaster Response. We have a total of seven senior chainsaw instructors across the Lutheran Church- Missouri Synod that oversee all chainsaw instruction, work to develop new chainsaw related trainings, and train new instructors. They are considered “subject matter experts” for anything chainsaw related within LCMS Disaster Response Lutheran Early Response Teams.
In October, Rev. Trae Fistler traveled to Heavenly Host Lutheran Church in Cookeville, TN to teach a LERT basic chainsaw class. During this training, Rev.
