Commemorate the Reformation with new products from CPH
Introducing three new products from Concordia Publishing House that will help your church and school prepare for the much-anticipated 500th anniversary of the Reformation in October 2017.
Coordinate a complete Reformation 500 package with a matching 16-month 2016–2017 calendar, standard bulletin, and matte fabric banner that feature the first stanza of Luther’s most famous hymn, “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God.”
Pictured on the cover of the Reformation banner and bulletin is Coburg Fortress in Coburg, Germany. Coburg Fortress is one of the largest complexes in Germany and was never able to be taken in battle, so impregnable was its height and fortification. Martin Luther sought refuge there from April through October of 1530, during the Diet of Augsburg, because he was still under an Imperial ban. There he was safe from capture and imprisonment. He was in constant contact with his colleagues in Augsburg via many letters, and he also worked on his translation of the Bible during this time. No doubt it was precisely this kind of fortress that inspired “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God.” The photo features the main entrance into Coburg Fortress. To this day, Coburg Fortress is breathtaking and awe-inspiring.
The 16-month 2016–2017 commemorative calendar remembers numerous Reformation-era events on the days they happened, and the beautiful full-color photography brings Reformation history to life. Mark the days leading up to the Reformation quincentenary celebration in October 2017 with this beautiful wall calendar, dated September 2016 to December 2017.
