We would like to extend a sincere “thank you” to congregations who recently observed “District Sunday.” This included announcing a special offering to support the District’s student financial aid program for professional church workers. Those gifts will be combined with the offering from the District Convention’s opening service on June 26. Again, we are grateful for congregations taking the time to highlight the ministry of the Mid-South District and encourage support of the very worthwhile student financial aid program.
June 7, District Sunday
We invite and encourage you to join with other LCMS congregations across Arkansas, Tennessee and southern Kentucky to designate June 7 as “District Sunday” — a day to highlight our partnership in ministry together! This year, we are asking congregations to announce a special offering on District Sunday to support our student financial aid program for professional church workers. A printable bulletin insert for use on District Sunday is included with this message:
District Sunday color (2 per page)
District Sunday grayscale (2 per page)
If June 7 is not the best day for your congregation to emphasize District Sunday, we invite you to select another Sunday before June 14. This will allow adequate time for District Sunday gifts from congregations to be counted and announced at the upcoming District Convention. The offering from the Convention’s opening service on June 26 is also designated for the student financial aid program.
