The Ralph C. Weiser Excellence in Ministry Award

The Mid-South District’s recent 50th Anniversary Banquet served as the perfect setting to unveil a distinctive new form of recognition: the Ralph C. Weiser Excellence in Ministry Award.  Established to honor the life and work of the late Ralph Weiser, the award will be presented annually to recognize the ministry-building work and dedication of one Mid-South District layperson.  Appropriately, the first award was presented posthumously to Ralph Weiser, and was gratefully accepted by his son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Margo Weiser.  A long-time friend of the Mid-South District, Ralph Weiser shared his leadership skills through service on numerous district boards and was a key figure in both his local Lutheran congregation and community of Magnolia, Arkansas.  The Mid-South District is pleased to honor Mr. Weiser’s legacy of leadership and faith through this new award.
