Participate for a Chance to Win Cool Prizes!
Earlier this year, the Mid-South District introduced a new initiative to encourage the spiritual, emotional and physical well-being of our professional church workers. While the Worker Wellness Initiative was established to promote wellness for our workers, the hope is that the program’s activities and topics will reach into the pews and inspire everyone in our District to take a closer look at healthy habits for our body, mind and soul. One fun way to do this is through new monthly wellness challenges, which are open to anyone. In May, the Worker Wellness program will focus on general health and well-being, but with a special emphasis on diabetes awareness and prevention. It’s a pretty important topic, considering that 40 million Americans are currently living with this debilitating and often deadly disease. For May, the Wellness Challenge is simple. Do any (or all) of the following:
- Set 1-2 personal or group health goals (nutrition, physical activity, blood sugar awareness, etc.)
- Complete at least 8 physical activities during the month (walking, exercise, group activities, etc.)
- Learn something new about diabetes or blood sugar health (article, video, workshop, discussion, etc.)
- Participate in a group activity or conversation related to this month’s topic
Once you complete activities for the challenge, log your participation through an online form and you’ll instantly be entered to win the monthly prize. The prize for May is a $50 Visa gift card—something you can use to help with any of your wellness goals. And if you’re a Facebook user, don’t forget to join the Worker Wellness group for regular tips and encouragement for your overall wellness.
