500 New Testament Bibles with Psalms and Proverbs were purchased by Concordia Lutheran Church (Kingsport, TN) with funds from the Rev. Robert G. Heckmann memorial.
The majority of the Bibles went to the Sullivan County Sheriff’s department. The Sheriff’s department was very happy to receive the books and intends to offer them to the staff and inmates at the county jail. We pray that God’s Word will accomplish the purpose for which He sent it! (Isaiah 55:10-11). What a joyous experience!
The September Testament
October 2022 marked the 500th anniversary of Luther’s translation of the New Testament from Greek into German. The translation, published in 1522, marked a pivotal point of the Reformation by making the gospels more accessible for people in the pews and in their own homes.
