A good leader is someone who sees a need and regardless of self-interest makes a positive difference for others. This describes the founder of Trinity/HOPE. With God as his spiritual head, John Hall followed the Holy Spirit’s lead to move others to work together feeding thousands of hungry children in Haiti so they could grow strong physically as well as spiritually learn of God’s love.
While on a mission trip to Haiti, John witnessed hopeless, hungry children starving to know God’s love. Seeing these kids broke his heart, knowing they were attending Christian schools with a will to learn but unable to physically focus due to an empty stomach. The Holy Spirit immediately began working in John’s heart. The images of these children were burned in his memory driving him to do something!
After returning home, he shared his experience and the dire need of these children with his church and friends. They were not sure how it would work but knew God wanted them to feed the hungry and specifically the forty-two children in this school in Haiti. They raised the money and started the organization known today as Trinity/HOPE. His ability to share his vision and empower others to share that vision is another leadership characteristic John embodies.
Today almost 19,000 children in Haiti say, “Mesi!” – (Thank you) John for telling our story and creating a synergism with so many volunteers to join the movement!
