Blessing Bag Program

Concordia Lutheran Church in Jackson, TN has a “Blessing Bag” program. Through this program members are encouraged to keep a lunch bag of food in their cars and hand it out to the less fortunate on the streets. Anyone can also come and get a bag of food at the church. A relationship has been built with some of the homeless men who were asked what else they could really use. So a team of youth and adults went shopping using a Thrivent Action Plan $250.00 grant. Three tent heaters and a two burner cooking unit were purchased and then delivered to the homeless. It was a feeling of Christmas for everyone. We were so happy and excited to give and they were thrilled and thankful to receive these gifts. Thanks to Thrivent for making this possible.
