Coat Giveaway and Rummage Sale

The Good Shepherd was definitely present at the Coat Giveaway and Rummage Sale. Everyone served with smiles before, during, and after the event; we met lots of our neighbors, some of whom asked for prayers for themselves or others; and the rummage sale yielded a great sum for our church’s growing building fund. Most amazing of all, because of the donations of coats from so many individuals and other churches from our Knoxville Circuit, the original two large bags of coats which we received from First Baptist Church, Maynardville, resulted in five large bags of “extra” coats given back to First Baptist for their own December coat giveaway even after we had the joy of giving free coats to so many families in our community. First Baptist approached us a month or so prior to our October 1^st event because, as one of their deacons told us, “We hear that your church is trying to make a difference in Sharps Chapel.”
