After worship on Sunday June 2, 2019, almost 2 dozen members of Concordia Lutheran Church, Kingsport, TN assembled “grab bags” for approximately 120 Kingsport Police Officers.
Using one of his two Thrivent Action Team projects, Pastor Paul Becker spear-headed this community service event.
Action Team funds were used to purchase granola bars, water bottles, and cough drops. The clear plastic bags and hand sanitizers and scripture cards were donated.
In addition, Thrivent choice dollars were approved to purchase scripture booklets from God’s Word to the Nations Mission Society: Encouragement for Law Enforcement – Put on the Full Armor of God. Each booklet has a sticker with contact information from Concordia, so the officers will know who is thinking of and praying for them.
Special thanks to our Outreach Team members Jane Hillhouse and Teri Miller for going above and beyond to make this project a success!
