LCMS missionaries are coming home to report on work and seek support
Spread the word. Every LCMS missionary family will be returning for their scheduled stateside visits in the next two years.
The missionaries, who are scheduled to return home every two years for a two-month visit, will travel throughout the Synod to reconnect with supporters and to foster new relationships for future support. This time of reconnecting and finding new partners is essential for the ongoing work in the mission field.
We encourage the pastors and church workers to seek opportunities to host missionaries. These visits join local congregations and people with the work done throughout the world.
Financial support is but one benefit of missionary visits and presentations. The visits also provide means for teaching the Church about the work of God’s Kingdom, both international and domestic.
Missionary visits and presentations also allow the Church to renew her commitment and fervor to pray for God’s work through missionaries while encouraging Church members to seek opportunities in their vocations to witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The LCMS has prepared a short list of things congregations can do to ensure that a missionary visit is as successful as possible > https://blogs.lcms.org/2017/discover-ways-to-support-lcms-missionaries
