Members of Chapel of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sharps Chapel, TN are displaying Lenten crosses on their homes’ front lawns in order to share their faith with their community. Theresa and Jeff Landis shared the idea with other church members. As a result, Jeff Landis and Jeff Garretson made crosses for each home, while Cindy Garretson made the hangings: purple for Lent, black for Good Friday, and white for Maundy Thursday and Easter. The crosses were given out after Sunday’s worship service on March 5.
“It’s been a joy driving around the area and seeing the crosses,” noted Paul Kritsch, pastor of the church. “We pray that our neighbors have a blessed Lenten and a joyous Easter as together we focus on Christ, the Savior.”
