What are you doing that is more important?
Our next mission trip is tentatively scheduled to leave on May 22, 2025 arriving in Kilimanjaro Airport (Arusha) on the 23rd. We will spend one night there and then fly to Mwanza and travel by car to Shinyanga, the headquarters for the Southeast of Lake Victoria diocese. We will spend the next week doing ministry in the areas to be determined by Bishop Nzelu. Last year two teams worked in the Kahama and Shinyanga areas baptizing 1200 souls. Activities on the trip may be varied according to the interests of the group. We always do bush evangelism, but in the past, some have also done eyeglass clinics, medical, vacation Bible schools etc. On Monday June 1st those wanting to go on Safari will leave for the Serengeti area returning to Arusha on Wednesday June 4th for our flight back home.
In addition to church planting/bush evangelism, we plan to visit the Buhangiji Albino Center in Shinyanga, the group homes for albino children built by St John Lutheran Church -Bingen, IN and the Mwadui Lutheran Secondary school. We also plan to visit missionary Cheryl Kruckemeyer who supervises the construction of the new hospital, transforming the existing dispensary/medical clinic into a state-of-the-art medical facility that offers general, specialty and surgical services.
