Christ the King, Memphis, hosted a Police and Fire Recognition Sunday in October to let First Responders know how very much the members appreciated their work in the community, serving, protecting, and sacrificing on behalf of the people. Not only were members of the area police and fire departments present, but a number of CTK members were saluted for their dedication as emergency personnel as well, both active and retired. The men and women came forward to the altar for a special prayer of thanksgiving and safekeeping, after which they introduced themselves, stating their area of responsibility and years of service. After worship, CTK members gathered around at a reception in their honor, greeting and taking photos of the community heroes.
