In preparation for the 2018 District Convention in Memphis, TN (June 28-30, 2018), it is the responsibility of District Secretary, six months before the opening date of the convention, to provide nomination ballots for the various offices and positions of service in the district to be elected at the district convention for the 2018-2021 term of office.
Please download the below letter for complete information and the various official nomination ballots for the congregations, and/or individual members of the Synod in your congregation, to nominate where applicable, and to submit with the names of nominees before the deadline of February 28, 2018.

Update on the District Bylaws – The district board of directors is pleased to announce that the amendments to the district bylaws, to bring them into harmony with the various bylaw amendments made at the 2016 Synod convention, were approved by the Synod’s Commission on Constitutional Matters (CCM) on December 21, 2017 with Opinion 17-2855, and adopted by the Mid-South District Board of Directors on behalf of the district convention on December 23, 2017.
After being drafted, they were reviewed by the CCM, and adopted by the board through Bylaw 1.1.3, to amend the bylaws prior to a district convention to comply with resolutions and bylaw changes made by the Synod in convention. These bylaws became effective upon their unanimous adoption by the Board of Directors, and the action was read into the minutes at the recent Board of Directors’ meeting on January 28, 2018. A copy of the amended bylaws will be available on the district’s website, and will also be included in the upcoming 2018 district convention workbook as part of the report of the Board of Directors, and for congregations and their delegates to prepare for the convention. Thanks for your interest in being a part of the Mid-South District Convention. We will attempt to accommodate you with tables, electrical outlets and other specific needs. Please complete the VENDOR AGREEMENT FORM 2018 no later than April 30, 2018. Also, if you would, please include the names of individuals who should receive registration materials. There is a $25 charge per table (6 ft. long) for exhibit space at the convention. If you require electricity the charge will be $75 per table. Table skirting will be provided by the Hilton. Wireless internet is available for $125. There may be additional charges if you have other specific exhibit requirements. As we get closer to the time of our convention, we will send you registration materials and the particulars regarding our event. Please be advised that, at this time it is our understanding that if you require lodging at the Hilton, you must make your reservations through our office.
