“Before You Go” Cruise Notes & Reminders
The following information will be helpful as your prepare to embark. Some of these materials were previously shared in the Mid-South Minute, and some information is new:
ABOUT GRATUITIES —
The Mid-South District paid gratuities for your cabin steward and dinner servers with your cruise fees. You do not need to add gratuities when you complete your check-in online. However, this does not cover items like drinks purchased onboard. Carnival adds gratuity to all beverage purchases. Please see the “Important Information from Carnival” for more on gratuities.
DOWNLOAD “CARNIVAL HUB” APP —
Prior to departure, please download the Carnival HUB app to your mobile device. If a pastor and spouse are cruising together, both should download the app on their devices. Onboard, the HUB app will allow passenger-to-passenger messaging and provide other helpful resources like cruise event updates and ship maps. Download the app to your device at the following link: https://www.carnival.com/shipboard/funhub/funhub-landing or scan the code with your phone:
EMERGENCY CONTACT TO THE SHIP —
Should an extreme emergency arise and family, friends or congregation leadership needs to contact you on the ship, they can call 1-800-227-6482 and specify the ship (Carnival Valor), your cabin number, and your name. Again, this would only be in the case of an extreme emergency.
CASH FOR PORTS —
You should plan to bring some cash along, especially if you will visit Cozumel or Progreso.
NEW ORLEANS PARKING —
Please note that parking and other transportation fees to/from the terminal are the responsibility of the individual (not reimbursable by the Mid-South District). As an alternative to the dock side/terminal parking for conference attendees, Machu Picchu Tours has been recommended as an affordable option. This company’s parking costs less than parking at the cruise terminal and includes drop-off/pick-up:

442 Jackson Avenue / New Orleans, LA 70130
