Spring 2023 from Rev. Joseph Randrianasolo and the Lutheran Institute of Management & Entrepreneurship (LIME)
In 2014, ministry partners of the Mid-South District were introduced to Rev. Joseph Randrianasolo and the Lutheran Institute of Management & Entrepreneurship (LIME) in Madagascar. Since then, friends in the Mid-South District have faithfully supported this Lutheran ministry through technology upgrades, significant facility improvements, and other enhancements that have helped LIME serve its students and provide them with opportunities for a brighter future.
Along with many positive milestones, the ministry has endured a number of crises over the last decade, from the impacts of the pandemic to those of severe drought. Through each challenge, ministry partners in the Mid-South District have prayerfully supported the staff, students and mission of LIME. Today, our Malagasy Lutheran brothers and sisters need help once again as both flooding and inflation threaten not only the future of LIME, but the daily lives of its staff and their families.
As Rev. Joseph Randrianasolo recently shared in an urgent communication with Mid-South District President, Rev. Dr. Roger Paavola, the current situation for LIME is very serious. Madagascar’s isolated geography requires the import of many essential goods and resources, all of which have risen in cost dramatically with global inflation. Flooding has also devastated supplies of domestic resources, making staples like rice and other foods more scarce and expensive. These factors have not only reduced enrollment at LIME, but made daily life so expensive for the staff that they struggle to feed themselves and their families.
As our friends in Madagascar pray for recovery from the floods and an easing of inflation, they also pray and humbly ask for help from their Mid-South District Lutheran family.
