Faith in the Home forum 2020

March 21, 2020 @ Our Savior Lutheran Church, Nashville

Meet the speakers

Keynote speaker Dr. Marxhausen

Keynote Speaker Dr. Kim Marxhausen, Lutheran Educator & Educational Psychologist

Kim Marxhausen is a nationally sought after speaker and a Lutheran teacher of more than 25 years. She left teaching to earn a Ph. D. in Educational Psychology. She now teaches graduate classes, consults, and writes for families and teachers. Her most recent book is Weary Joy: The Caregiver’s Journey available from CPH and Amazon.

Dr. Kim Marxhausen will be keynote speaker. She states, “Children’s parents are their first and best teachers, especially when it comes to sharing the faith. God designed our brains and hearts to learn best within a family setting, and the church can do much to support parents. In our plenary sessions, we will explore how faith teaching is essential to a child’s spiritual and emotional well-being. We will learn how God cultivates resilience through the teaching of His Word. The goal of these sessions is to give you much to think and pray about as you build family and child ministry in your church.”

Speaker Rev. Mark Bushuiakovish from Concordia Center for the Family, Christ the King Lutheran Church (Southgate, MI)

Mark Bushuiakovish is a husband, father, foster parent, and pastor. He serves as Family Pastor at Christ The King Lutheran Church and School in Metro Detroit. Mark enjoys playing sports with his kids, learning useless information for the sake of dominating trivia, and being an ambassador for bow ties. He loves spending time with his young family and participating in God’s mission that they each reach the heavenly home that their Father is preparing for them.

Lawren and Childhelp believes that every child has a unique contribution to make to the world. Childhelp exists to meet the physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual needs of abused and neglected children. We do so by focusing our efforts in the areas of advocacy, prevention, treatment, and community outreach.

Lawren brings additional experience in other roles including that of education and coaching. Lawren holds a Master of Science from Bellevue University and Bachelor of Arts from Greensboro College. Lawren currently resides in Knoxville, Tennessee with his beautiful wife Summer and their four adorable kids; Kahlea, Lincoln, Lawson, and Leland.

Associate pastor at Faith Lutheran Church and Preschool Collierville, TN
When he is not serving as pastor at Faith Lutheran Church and Preschool. Clayton coaches his children’s sports teams (soccer, baseball, softball and basketball). He enjoys vegetable gardening, more for the growing than the eating. When he has a chance, he likes to read about world history or accounts of 19th century explorers.

Speaker Rev. A.J. Neugebauer, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lafe, AR

Aaron Neugebauer is a pastor, husband, and father of five. He has served at St John’s Lutheran Church in Lafe, AR, since 2013. He coaches girls soccer and enjoys taking his kids to the library. Aaron is a fan of the Celtics, Red Sox, and Patriots, and is a comic book aficionado.
